ABOUT
Raised on British Columbia's Pacific coast, following high school I took a summer job pruning apple trees in the Okanagan, before enrolling in the Applied Communications program at Camosun College on Vancouver Island. There I learned how to put together a newspaper, take professional photographs, and produce radio and television broadcasts.
Working in public radio taught me a lot about how to find my way into a story, the layered bureaucracy of government and the who's who of industry that drives our world. I also developed a skill for tracking down sources, asking the key questions, and assuming the dogged persistence required to meet deadlines.
I went on to Journalism School at Langara College in Vancouver and later worked as a reporter for various newspapers. When an injury necessitated long-term recovery, I began writing freelance from my home office, writing and providing communications services for government, non-profits and industry.
My curiosity and interest in learning has led me back to school several times, majoring in Italian Studies at UBC, and at SFU, BCIT and Langara College to further my training in still photography and video production.
I am based in Metro Vancouver where I write and am currently working on a novel.
